Anti-bribery and anti-money laundering e- programmes

9th August 2016 4 Comments

A FTSE250 General Counsel writes...

Do company secretaries have names of providers that supply standardised e- programmes on anti-bribery and anti-money laundering where a link can be emailed to employees and they complete it on an annual basis?

My colleagues advise me that there are a number of providers who do this, including Navex, Cerico (Pinsent Mason’s compliance joint venture), Trace International, Thomson Reuters, Transparency International, Eversheds, Law Now (which is part of CMS Cameron McKenna), Cylix, DeltaNet, Workplace Answers and others.

Some providers have courses which cannot be customised with company branding, whereas others will create training modules for you, which they host on their e-learning platforms.

We use Evershed’s online ABAC training course

We have used a US-based provider called We Comply.
They manage the rollout and keep a record of who has completed the course or not. This allows us to follow up directly with those who have not completed the course in the allotted timeframe.
We have to translate into 9+ languages. This has not always been a smooth process but we have got there in the end. It needs close management though.
We Comply have off the shelf courses. They will also allow the client to amend the standard course content which we have done on each occasion.

We use LRN, who have a variety of ABAC (and other) compliance related training. Longer modules have questions. Shorter ones may have just a certification. The training is aligned to a learning management system (LMS) which is basically a database of the people who take the courses. They have many ‘off the shelf’ courses on e.g. AML and Competition. The courses can be adapted and they can also develop bespoke courses. Happy to provide further info or an intro if you like. Not sure what the protocol for that is but I’m happy for Equity Comms to share my contact details with you if you want to ask them.
