A FTSE SMALL CAP Company Secretary and General Counsel writes...
We sit outside the FTSE 350 and therefore have always fallen below the radar of the Hampton Alexander (33% female representation) and Parker reviews (one person of colour on the Board). However, as this landscape and ESG/Sustainability gains ever more traction, we are now looking at giving impetus to our approach to both gender and ethnicity diversity.
Would anyone please be willing to share any examples of Board diversity policies, targets and metrics – or to describe how specific are their policies and targets, over what time trajectory, and whatever else is generally included.
To have a few pointers or examples of what others do would be most helpful.

given to the balance of the Board, and to
the benefits of different backgrounds and
experience, and to diversity on the Board
including gender. The Board endeavours
to ensure that these principles are applied
throughout the Group.”

As a small cap, I share your sentiment but pressure is on and it will be more prominent once the listing rules are changed. This will be the accelerator for real change, much in the same way as TCFD being mandatory ahead of time.

I share your sentiment, not quite FTSE350 but feeling the pressure. We will all be on the same boat with the forthcoming changes to the listing rules on this matter. Mandated disclosure will be accelerated much in the same way as TCFD.
