I was wondering what arrangements, if any, other companies have adopted in respect of a back-up reminder system (outside of the standard company diary system) should the person/people who are responsible for such major contracts leave the organisation before the contract comes up for renewal/termination?
Does anyone use a specific piece of software for this purpose or has anyone appointed an independent third party to notify them when major contracts come up for renewal?”

We add contract renewal dates (and notice periods) to our material contracts register, which is held in a shared Excel spreadsheet. No special software.
