I am interested to hear from companies who have decided to appoint a Designated NED for workforce engagement; what terms of reference they have been given to that role?

Good question. Our Company has a designated NED for workforce engagement. We don’t have any formal terms of reference (which is our usual style – to keep this incidental paperwork to a minimum) as it is pretty clear from the relevant parts of UKCGC what the role is (i.e. Principle D sets out the overall objective, and Provision 5 goes into a bit of detail)
I suppose one could just convert these parts of the UKCGC into a ToR, if it was felt necessary
In practice, I go through the requirements of the role with the NED twice a year, based on what I’ve said above.
