Which professional advisers do other companies use for trademarks?  Can you recommend any particular firm?

We have used Reddie & Grose (Catherine Nursaw and Patrick Lloyd) for about 15 years. They are efficient and we have a good relationship. Their advice is very thorough.

Julius Stobbs of Stobbs IP also comes recommended. He was the most successful TM partner at top IP firm Boult Wade Tennant for many years before going out on his own about 5 years ago

We have used Frank B Dehn for all our Trademark and patent registrations for over 20 years and have found them to be good quality and user-friendly

I’dalso endorse HGF. Excellent client portal and good service at a reasonable price. Give Antony Gold a call for an initial discussion.

Sorry about the admin burden, but you’ll need to review a few. Make sure they have reached the 21st Century in terms of IT and they can demonstrate a working portal that you can review your TMs, forthcoming applications, renewals etc. Check standard fees for applications. And make sure that you get a nominated contact that you can work with….

for list of local agents to you.

          Good luck.

We use Reddie & Grose on Theobalds Road and they are also our patent attorneys, though we have now brought in a Legal department and two qualified patent attorneys more recently.

I did trade marks for over 20 years and my experience is to make sure the attorneys know your business inside out.

A lot of trade mark work can be done internally, such as searching potential new marks which saves on cost but I would only recommend if you are familiar with the laws of the various countries you are filing marks.

We have used Barker Brettell (Birmingham) for 20 years+ for trade mark and patent work. They are assisting us with applications in the US and Chian and have good local contacts. Another lawyer has suggested that we should try Withers & Rogers for patent work – but we remain happy with the Barker Brettell service at present.

Another vote here for Barker Brettell. We’ve used them for quite a few years and they look after all our IP. Good on Patents and Design Right etc as well as Trade Marks.

dont go to London, because of the hourly rate. Wilson Gunn, in Manchester, have looked after worldwide brands eg Durex, and Scholl, or Harrison IP, – Natalie Brindle, who used to work at Wilson Gunn. Natalie is very customer friendly, and at competitive rates.

We use HGF. I find them to be very professional, they know their stuff and are also good value for money.
