A FTSE SMALL CAP Group Counsel & Company Secretary writes...
Yorkshire Building Society are withdrawing from the share plans activity including sharesave, what recommendations do companies make as to sharesave providers?
As a supplemental question, does anyone know of any sharesave providers that service the Republic of Ireland? (YBS used to – but since Brexit have ceased to do this, and last year when I looked for a sharesave carrier in Ireland I couldn’t find one)

Equiniti’s UK SIP service is very good.

I know Equiniti does administer SIPs but as we do not offer one I can’t comment on the service. If the service was at the same level as Sharesave would be more than happy.

We moved from Link to YBS two years ago as Link’s service on our SIP was really terrible, although as Registrars they are great. I would not recommend Link for share plan administration. Do Equiniti administer SIP?

Link (ex Northern Registrars in Huddersfield before acquisition by Capita and subsequent sell on) are our Registrar and we are talking to them about our sharesave. They do a great job for us on the register..

We run our SIP through Shareworks (Morgan Stanley) (they bought the Barclays book of business recently) … Barclays was using the Shareworks back end also .. not overly impressed with their back office systems either before after Morgan Stanley acquired.

I would echo the previous comment regarding Equiniti who provide a great service.

I would steer clear of Computershare – we have had endless issues since they ‘upgraded’ their systems.

We have used Equiniti for a number of years and have enjoyed excellent service both for our UK and international plans. Would have no hesitation in recommending Equiniti.
Having the same problem with the Republic of Ireland – have not been able to find one and have reverted to an unapproved plan.
